  • Does my child need to bring any sports equipment?
All sports equipment is provided, so no need to send any sports equipment!
  • What is your policy on bad-weather days?
Rain or Shine We run camps rain or shine! Our goal is to be outside, enjoying summer, for all (or most) of every camp day. (Unless of course, we want to play dodgeball, or another game that works better inside!) We do know that weather can be unpredictable in Calgary – whether heat warnings, thunderstorms, rainy days, or poor air quality due to smoke – so that’s why all of our Good Times MultiSport camps have an indoor facility option. Therefore, we do not refund or credit for classes missed by choice due to weather. All children should come to camp with weather-appropriate clothing and related gear. Please note that most of our indoor options will require a modified program (for example, softer balls, lower-activity level activities), but we still plan our modified activities to be loaded with fun! Each camp's indoor program may look a little different, based on the space. And unless there is a reason for us to be inside, we plan to be outside for all or most of every day! You Know Your Child Please evaluate your child's individual circumstances and make an informed decision regarding their participation in camp during days with poor air quality or less than ideal weather conditions. As our goal is to ensure consistent staffing throughout the program, along with the accompanying expenses of indoor spaces, we are unfortunately unable to provide credits or refunds if your child does not attend on days when air quality is lower than normal or less than ideal weather conditions.
  • What about days with heat-warnings, thunderstorms, rain or low air quality?
First, make sure you read the general question on our bad weather policy. Here are more specifics for certain situations: Heat-Warning Days On extreme heat days, plan for your child to still be outside. On these days, we will increase water-breaks, incorporate activities in the shade, include lower-activity level activities, and incorporate inside breaks throughout the day. Thunderstorms In cases of lightning and thunderstorms, all activities will be moved indoors, until it is safe to resume outdoor activities. Rainy Days If there is no lighting/thunder, then we will be outside, even on rainy days! Please dress your child accordingly. We also encourage you to pack a dry set of clothes, in case kids want to change part way through the day. On rainy days, we will plan to eat lunch indoors instead of outdoors to give kids a break from the rain. Poor Air Quality On poor air quality days, we will review air quality conditions on a regular basis and adjust camp activities as needed. Modifications may include: increased indoor breaks and activities, as well as modifying outdoor activities to be less strenuous. Overall Please evaluate your child's individual circumstances and make an informed decision regarding their participation in camp during days with poor air quality or less than ideal weather conditions. As our goal is to ensure consistent staffing throughout the program, along with the accompanying expenses of indoor spaces, we are unfortunately unable to provide credits or refunds if your child does not attend on days when air quality is lower than normal or less than ideal weather conditions.
  • What is your sick policy?
Please do not send your child to camp when he/she is sick. If a child exhibits any of the symptoms below, the child must not be sent to camp. If a child is already at camp, their parent/guardian will be contacted to pick them up. · Fever: 38° Celsius or higher in the last 24 hours. · Vomiting and/or Diarrhea in the last 24 hours. · Severe Coughing, difficulty breathing, Pink eye, etc.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Camp fees are non-refundable. And no credits or refunds will be provided for days that campers do not attend. Refunds of the camp fees (minus $50 processing fee) may only be made when written notice of cancellation and a request for refund is received by June 1st. Cancellations Due to Medical or Emergency Circumstances In some cases, refunds may be granted after the cancellation and refund period for medical or emergency circumstances only. A written notice of cancellation with explanation of medical or emergency circumstances must be provided for a refund request to be considered. Additional documentation may be requested. Partial or full refunds for medical or emergency circumstances will be at the discretion of Good Times MultiSport after reviewing the request.
  • What is your bathroom policy?
All campers must be toilet-trained and able to use the bathroom on their own. If your child needs assistance, we ask that a parent or guardian stay on-site to help their child as needed. For your child’s safety, children are not sent to the bathroom unattended, nor do we allow staff to take children to the bathroom by themselves. Staff are also not allowed to enter a stall with a child. As a result, teams will take regular bathroom breaks or, when needed, coaches will take a group of children to the bathroom.
  • How do you keep my kid safe?
At Good Times MultiSport, safety comes first. We do everything in our power to protect kids from all harm. We reserve the right to dismiss, from camp, any child that intentionally harms others, vandalizes property or displays other extreme behaviour. In these cases, no refund will be issued. In cases of inappropriate behaviour, parents will be notified verbally and/or in writing with an action plan. We require all Good Times MultiSport staff to complete a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector check, or if not applicable, to provide two signed professional character reference checks. All potential employees are screened, and references are checked before being hired. All Good Times MultiSport staff will undergo orientation and training in our safe kids policies before working at GTM camps.
